Week one in Manila!

Riding on Jeepeneys and Trykeneys everywhere we go, witnessing the Easter traditions in the streets, kneeling on hard muddy floors in the garbage dump area, and tasting some new and very delicious food! It's been a long and exciting week so far in Manila!

Our team after traveling...tired, hot, and hungry!

Most every where we go we ride in these ^ jeepneys. Usually they crowd in as many people as they can and we are all hot and sweaty, squished up against total strangers. It's quite a fun experience at first but after traveling all day having to get in and out and change to several jeepneys just to get to one destination it really makes you appreciate the privilege of owning your own car.

There is houses built in absolutely every possible space. On top of other houses, on the mediums in the middle of the street, and even suspended under bridges dangling above the dirty trash filled water.

Sorry its blurry, the jeepeneys move pretty fast! :)

Helping out with the TB Ministry, serving food to the children living in the Smokey Mountain/garbage dump area.

The children here have the brightest eyes. Full of so much hope.

Sandra and Jooyoung sharing the gospel with the children at the TB Ministry.

At the daycare center/feeding program for infants. A precious little girl with a large boil/possible infection just fell in love with Jooyoung. She wouldn't leave him the whole time, she even cried when he left. It was really amazing to see Jooyoung so gentle and loving towards this little one.

Riding in trykeneys is a lot of fun! In this particular one we fit 7 people not including the driver.

Can't get any better! The food so far has been amazing!

Please continue to pray for:
  • our team that we would be well and strong for the next portion of our trip
  • that we would continue to be open to God's direction and moving through us
  • against all attacks of the enemy, he does not like the work we are doing for the Lord and he is trying all sorts of things to stop us from doing what we were called here for
Thank you all for your prayers!
